Cross Solent Charity Swim - 1 August 2010

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Queen's Harbour Master Portsmouth that a Cross Solent Swim in aid of Ryde Inshore Rescue will take place at 0845 on Sunday 1 August 2010.
2. Two swimmers will be taking part in the event and the swimmers will be closely followed by a kayak. In addition, there will be a 19’ yellow and blue launch acting as a Mother Craft (Call Sign GOSHAWK) accompanying the swimmers and kayak. The GOSHAWK will display the International Code ‘ALPHA’ Flag, whilst escorting the swimmers.
3. The proposed route of the swim is from Ryde East Sands to the Southsea War Memorial via the North Sturbridge Buoy and Swashway. The swimmers will be starting at approximately 0845.
4. All mariners are requested to keep a good lookout and pass well clear of the swimmers and the support craft during their crossing of the Solent.
